Madness Madness One of our primary towers that serve Rio Rancho and Albuquerque is being forced by Rio Rancho to be removed. It will be oflline by the end of November 2008. We are attempting to re-allign some of our network to work from other towers we are broadcasting our signals from. RWSI has a petition available online that you can fill out to help keep your unique and valuable service available. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/rwsi I wish we could find a solution with Rio Rancho to keep the wireless Internet going in the area. We studied other possible locations and found that it would not work around previously-installed cell sites for various reasons. The city says they will work with us but when we try they say homeland security and hold their hands out for money. It would come down to giving them millions for the right to to sell wireless Internet. There are no previously installed towers in the area to build on, the local Rio Rancho government has caused this.
RWSI could be part of the solution, not the problem, here in New Mexico. In other words, we could employ hundreds of people, improve education, and quality of life for those involved. Why does New Mexico have to be the poorest, underfed, high DWI, lack of good education state? Statistically, New Mexico is ranked as either the worst state, or one of the worst states, for education, jobs/income, poverty, health care, DUI's, domestic and child abuse, teenage pregnancy, etc. When will there be a chance for improvement? Why can't we be an improvement to New Mexico?
